Dominic De Venuta is a Portland resident fighting against raising rent prices and a rapidly changing design landscape. He draws inspired from oddball illustrations out of the late 60's and early 90's and 15th century block prints. In the early Y2K's Dominic picked up screen printing on his living room table and KUNGFUTOAST was born.
The name KUNGFUTOAST is a nod to the danse macabre allegory. A metaphor prevalent in Dominic's personal work. The name is not a playful twist on traditional breakfast side dishes. Though toast is great, we prefer tacos!
Dominic's freelance work is focused in Print & Pattern design with an emphasis on action sports product and apparel graphics. His illustrations branch out into product packaging, web + editorial illustration and poster design.
